Octoberfest Comes to Portland

A blog written for Truebeck Construction internal communications:

For many companies, 2022 marked the return of in-office celebrations. Team Truebeck in Portland was no different. After a hiatus of celebrations since the office opened in Northeast Portland April of 2020, the team held their annual Beerfest.

The office became the scene of a lavish German volksfest—ok, there were no schnitzels or homemade soft pretzels but there was a giant charcuterie table and some great local beer and wine. Plus, Oktoberfest is mainly about good times, beer, and tasty food—and the Portland team nailed it.

Using the German holiday as an opportunity to get together and show off the office roof deck, the party was a success with nearly 200 guests including clients, architects, and engineers in the area.

Business and life are all about people.

“It was a lot of fun to see the growing team, clients, and architect partners I haven’t had a chance to meet. The Portland team has been doing some great work, and it was apparent in the positive feedback I heard from clients all night,” said Co-Founder Sean Truesdale.

Team Truebeck in Portland has been awarded several projects that will be breaking ground in the next year including— Garmin TI, CONFIDENTIAL PROJECT, and 550 MLK.

Chief Operating Officer Nick Pera said, “The future of work must consider the happiness of our people—our employees, owners, architects, and trade partners. It was great to have everyone in the same space and reflect on the strong relationships we’ve built in Portland. The team has built a great reputation in the region, and it was clear that we’re here to stay in Portland and our long-lasting relationships will follow.”

The evening wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Crissy Lanier and Madison Hudak, who were instrumental in the planning, Paige Camacho who helped the day of, and Jamila Clay and Justin Pebet who helped with Marketing efforts.
